Applying to Preschool and Kindergarten
Waverly’s Preschool and Elementary School programs are developmental and theme-based, nurturing curiosity, imagination, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. Our admission process is designed to help us get to know your child and family — and to give you the opportunity to get to know Waverly. Here’s how to get started:
1. Submit an Inquiry
Complete our online Inquiry Form to gain access to the Waverly Parent Portal. We recommend doing this early so you can stay informed and register for admission events. You may submit an inquiry at any time before applying.
2. Visit Us
Once you’ve submitted an inquiry, you’ll be able to log into your Parent Portal to:

Register for upcoming events (Campus Tours, Early Childhood Curriculum Night, Open House)
Begin your application
We highly encourage families to attend an Open House. Campus Tours are for adults only, please. Events run between October and March.
3. Apply
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through the Parent Portal. There is a non-refundable $100 application fee.
Early Application Deadline: December 12, 2025 (guarantees a parent/guardian interview)
Regular Application Deadline: January 20, 2026
Rolling admission for the current school year is available based on space. If interested, please reach out to the Admissions Department for more information: admissions@thewaverlyschool.org.
4. Schedule a Parent Interview (required)
After submitting your application, you’ll be able to schedule a parent/caregiver interview. These interviews are held between December and February and can be conducted either in person or virtually.
5. Register for a Playdate Visit (required)
All Preschool and Kindergarten applicants attend a 90-minute playdate visit on January 10 or January 24, 2026. Children will participate in small group activities led by Waverly faculty. No preparation is required. You’ll be able to schedule your child’s visit through the Parent Portal once the application is submitted.
6. Submit Supporting Materials
Teacher Recommendation Form:
At least one teacher recommendation is required for all Preschool and Kindergarten applicants who have been in a program. Forms must be submitted via the Parent Portal or in a sealed envelope on school letterhead.
Helpful tip: Provide your child’s current teacher with a stamped, addressed envelope along with the form.

All supporting materials are due by February 13, 2026.
