Applying to High School (9th through 12th)
Waverly’s high school is a close-knit community where students engage in deep intellectual exploration, leadership, and community service. Our college-preparatory program features mastery-based evaluation, Senior Projects, and collaborative learning frameworks that challenge students to think critically, act ethically, and articulate their passions. Along the way, they are exposed to new ideas, supported in pursuing what they love, and prepared for life beyond Waverly. As a result, our graduates are curious, confident, and creative leaders in the world.
To begin the admission process, please follow the steps below.
1. Submit an Inquiry
Complete our online Inquiry Form to gain access to the Waverly Parent Portal. We recommend doing this early so you can stay informed and register for admission events. You may submit an inquiry at any time before applying.
2. Visit Us (required)
Once you’ve submitted an inquiry, you’ll be able to log into your Parent Portal to:

**High school applicants are required to attend one of the Open House events in November or December. Missed the Open House? We have a campus tour on January 7, 2026. Register through your parent portal. If you are unable to attend this event, reach out to admissions@thewaverlyschool.org.
3. Apply
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through the Parent Portal. There is a non-refundable $100 application fee.
Early Application Deadline: December 12, 2025 (guarantees a parent/guardian interview)
Regular Application Deadline: January 20, 2026
Rolling admission for the current school year is available based on space. If interested, please reach out to the Admissions Department for more information: admissions@thewaverlyschool.org.
4. Applicant and Parent Interview (required)
Once your application is submitted, you’ll be able to schedule your family interview, which includes both the applicant and parent/caregiver(s). Interviews are required for all high school applicants and will take place on campus between December and February.
This is a chance for us to connect more personally and get to know your student as a learner, thinker, and community member. Students are encouraged to bring something meaningful to share — a personal interest, passion project, or creative piece. It can be something they’ve built, written, performed, explored, or simply feel proud of — academic or not.
5. Visit our Social Justice Seminar (optional)
High school applicants are invited to spend part of a day on campus, sitting in on our Social Justice Seminar and connecting with current Waverly students. This optional visit offers a glimpse into classroom life and our community in action.
6. Submit Supporting Materials
Teacher Recommendation Form:
At least two teacher recommendations are required for high school applicants. Forms must be submitted via the Parent Portal or in a sealed envelope on school letterhead.
Helpful tip: Provide your child’s current teacher with a stamped, addressed envelope along with the form.
