Administration
Heidi Johnson is Waverly’s Head of School. She has a B.A. in political science, a teaching credential, and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. Heidi has worked for more than 25 years in public and private schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Heidi’s two children graduated from Waverly: Sam in 2003 and Ryland in 2008.
Jason Gottlieb is Waverly’s Assistant Head of School. He has a B.A. in Political Studies and a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Seattle University. He has taught for over 20 years and most recently spent four years as Assistant Director at The Walden School. His three sons attend Waverly: Sam in fifth grade, Patrick in ninth grade, and Eamonn in tenth grade.
Lisa Groening is the Dean of Students at the high school. Lisa received her B.A. in English literature from Lewis and Clark College in Oregon. Lisa has taught Waverly middle and high school English, and creative writing. Lisa’s daughter Katie graduated from Waverly in 2010.
Jennifer Dakan is Waverly’s Admissions Director. Jennifer has a B.A. in English from the University of San Francisco, a teaching credential from San Jose State University, and twelve years of experience teaching middle, and high school students. She has three sons at Waverly: Charlie in third grade, Sam in fifth grade, and Leo in ninth grade.
Tracey Fiss is Waverly’s Business and Facilities Manager. Tracey has a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and many years of business management experience. Before coming to Waverly, Tracey worked for Robinsons-May as a corporate manager for eleven years.
Elaine Lass is Waverly’s High School College Counselor. Elaine received a B.A. in Psychology and Secondary Education from Chaminade University, a Master’s degree in Counseling/Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, and two teaching credentials from Loyola Marymount University in pupil personnel service and social studies teaching.
